Featured Artisan ... Liana Marie Originals
Liana Marie Originals creator and designer, 25 year old Liana Soper, was raised in Oakville, Ontario. Since childhood, Liana has always been a creative individual, inspired by nature, art, and fashion.
Upon graduating from the Visual Art program at UWO, Liana took an internship at a local art gallery where she experienced many different artistic mediums. It was here that Liana began making jewellery, and turned her hobby into a business.
In the summer of 2010 Liana wanted to expand her creative talents by taking up knitting. Cowl neck scarves was the item of choice for her knitting endeavours. She uses yarn with a mixture of acrylic and wool so as not to be too itchy, but still warm. The way in which she knits the cowls allows for the cowl to be pulled up above the nose, or right down around the neck.
Her line of handmade stationery, gift tags and festive cards (conveniently blank inside!) feature interesting images and motifs hand-stamped on acid free paper. The gift tags are actually made from recycled cards and wedding invitations!
Liana’s work embodies a natural feel from her love of nature and landscapes. She always has an idea of what she wants to create, but is never certain of how the piece will turn out until it is completed, making every piece truly original.
You can find Liana's wonderful work at the Christmas HandMade Market at Good Earth Food and Wine Co. in Beamsville on November 26 and 27th!!!

Featured Artisan ... Electropura
Electropura is an eco-friendly alternative approach to children’s clothing.
Behind Electropura is mom and fashion designer, Lynn van Gastel. A mother of two young children herself, van Gastel has found a way to combine her passions for design, children and consumer-awareness to create fashionable green clothing for conscientious parents around the world!
With each turn of the season, new fashion trends result in the mass production of raw materials and contribute to environmental damage. This type of production exploits cheap labour and leaves last year’s clothes to sit in trash bins and landfills.
In contrast, Electropura saves interesting textiles from becoming waste and utilizes the foresight of design to upcycle existing materials into functional and unique recycled kid’s clothing.
Their clothing line ranges from crossover onesies to shirts and dresses for girls and boys, all made from unique found materials. This allows for the design of truly one-of-a-kind pieces using practical and durable recycled fabrics that will stand up to active kids and cleaning.
We're super excited to welcome Electropura to the Christmas HandMade Market for the first time! Be sure to catch them on November 26th and 27th at Good Earth Food and Wine Co!

Featured Artisan ... Ross Carr Designs
Ross Carr Designs is the product of the dynamic duo of Kristin Ross and Lynda Carr.
First, we'd like to introduce you to the gorgeous work of Kristin Ross... we love it and you will too!!!
With a fashion history dating back as far as she can remember~starting with Nana's eccentric jewellery box, up until owning her own fashion boutique~Kristin has always been at the leading edge of design and colour using organic materials, natural elements and recycled components. Each handmade piece has no equal, no predecessor ... they're all original and unique ... truly one-of-a-kind.

Now, meet Fonthill jewelry artist Lynda Carr ... she has a penchant for vintage ... recycling and giving new life to old silver-plated castoffs.
In Lynda's hands, old and imperfect mismatched silver-plated bowls, trivets and lids have an elegant way of reincarnating as rings, pendants, bracelets and even earrings! Discarded butter dish pot lids, bread plates and serving bowls (most of the original material dates back to the early 1900's) get new life breathed into them as they're lovingly recrafted into stunning pieces of jewelry.
Lynda's original pieces are truly one-of-a-kind ... no two pieces could ever be the same because each piece of material she starts with is unique!

We're simply over-the-moon thrilled to welcome Ross Carr Designs to the 2011 Christmas Handmade Market ... we know that you'll find the perfect gift for Mom or a soon-to-be-graduate or even (hint, hint) yourself!!
